Forgotten about? No, it's suffering the same problems it always did.
Everyone that played this game raved about how awesome it was. Sadly, very few people played it and it ended up on the bargain shelves. I bought it from that shelf... And never got around to playing it.
So if you really want to know why it wasn't popular, the answer is: Marketing. Specifically, the lack of it. Not enough people knew about it, and there was never enough hype to get people to try it.

2 (reportedly) amazing games together. It was $10 at the time. I played Septerra for like 2 hours and then got lost in some other game. Never played Shogo.
