Skinomi tech skin screen protector is what I'm using now. Apply with a spritz of water which dries out and is crystal clear.

Hello!
I'd like to ask a question. Why won't you use a protector that uses water to set it?
I have never seen a protector you describe, they're all precisely cut to fit for the entire display.
I've tried multiple glass and screen protectors. The one I link below has been on for 5 months and hasn't lifted. Has a rainbow effect until completely dry.

I had the amFilm one you linked, and I hated it. It was a fingerprint magnet, and it still had the oil slick effect, even with the updated adhesive. All tempered glass protectors will have this effect if the glass isn't perfectly flush with the display, and the slight curve pretty much guarantees that it never will be.
Eventually I gave up on tempered glass screen protectors and ended up getting this skin instead. I applied it in a steamy bathroom for a dust free finish, and I'm really happy with how it turned out. You get used to the feel after a day or two.
Currently using this Skinomi screen protector. This is a wet application meaning their is some wet solution that you use to apply the screen protector. I had used a similar protector when I 1st got the Pixel 2 XL, but compared to this Skinomi it was a bit thicker. The Skinomi screen protector is a lot thinner. If you follow the video instructions you should be fine and you end up with great results (The Dome protector is expensive and also requires you follow specific instructions).
