I have a small/'compact' travel strip. Similar to this one. I've used it to plug into another strip (yes, I know you shouldn't technically do that) to get a few more open spaces when everything else is charging. I wouldn't bring a full/big/regular strip. And, truth be told, I've only had to use mine a handful of times . . . but since it's so small, I just keep it with the rest of my charging/electronic gear.

Mine happens to be a monster branded one that I got for $6 on clearance from Best Buy years ago. With three outlets and a few USB ports, I always have enough room to plug everything in, even if I only have access to one outlet.
