Amazon.ca is your best bet if you can wait a couple days.

I have this scale, it was on sale for $20 when I bought it (and needed to use it same day for a sample-knit), but I am going to buy another one that's a) more portable, and b) measures in 0.1g.

I like the look of this $18.25 one the most....but at $14.99 this one and this one are also options.

I literally have this ;)

It’s great for those situations and fits in my purse. It’s about the size of my phone.

It's the SmartWeigh Zip600. Got mine from Amazon (easy link). It's pretty tiny for a scale, and is perfect for quick weight checks on fast food or a million other "my bigger scale is at home" moments!

I'm assuming you're inside some sort of highschool / college dining hall? This makes things a little more difficult since you don't know exactly what's in the food and you can't weigh it raw, but it doesn't mean you can't weigh it.

You can buy a pocket scale: http://www.amazon.com/Smart-Weigh-ZIP600-Digital-Counting/dp/B00GTX3LAI/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1453448771&sr=8-12&keywords=pocket+scale

It all depends on how serious you are about it and what you're willing to do. I personally don't bring my scale to restaurants, but many people here do. Buying a scale would also help you understand portions mentally, allowing you to log more accurately without it.

I've only had this scale for a few weeks so can't say for its performance long term. It has decent capacity for being small. I like it a lot.

Edit: As for a kettle, this titanium press can be used directly on the fire for heating water and give you another way to coffee. I love it.

Just a heads up, there are mini kitchen scales. I got this one for Christmas and got a peek at it before it got wrapped and its pretty neat. It fits in a medium to large sized purse fairly easily.

So you can leave your big one at home and take a mini to work.

This is the one I got. It's pretty small, but it works well for me at work because usually I use very small clear plastic plates for food items I nab. Or I can transfer items back and forth to a smaller plate while I weight things.

I also like it because I can just take it with me when I travel!
