I have a few pairs of headphones (Sennheiser HD 280, some KRK model). I use them for mixing and for listening to non-electronic music.

However for every day electronic listening on the go, these little guys are my go-to (Sony MDR-XB90EX). They're a Japanese model and the bass on them is incredible. Crisp, clear, and deep. Better than IEMs at much higher price points that I've tried. The tips they come with suck but get some nice foam comply tips and they will serve you well.

personally i have a pair of Sony MDR XB90EX earphones that are amazing. They have intense and punchy bass that i have yet to find in another IEM for the same price.

Couple them with some Comply tips and you'll have a mini-rave in your head. I wear them to the gym everyday and I love how hype they get me feeling.

These are great cheap-mid range phones but I'm sure someone here can help you with more expensive cans

For EDM I absolutely love my Sony MDR-XB90EX. They are Japan imports, but they are perfect for bass-forward styles, yet I remain impressed with their overall sound quality throughout the range.

My daily IEM's continue to be my GR-07's and are a significantly different signature than the Sonys above and I listen to a lot of metal on a weekly basis. You can get the Bass Edition for a bit more, but would still keep you around $200 for the pair.

L connectors are better than straight, they last way longer because the jack isn't sticking out and receiving pressure. I recommend these, http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008G80FIU/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_FtCxub07JN972 a little more than you wanted to spend but the sound quality is phenomenal!

Budget - ~$75 usd, I'd prefer not to go above 75 but if 25 dollars is going to make all the difference, I'm for it.

Source - Phone, Nexus 6 - it would be convenient if they had a microphone but not a requirment.

Requirements for Isolation - I don't like other people hearing my music, which is why I'm looking for IEM's. I don't find IEM's generally work with my ears well but anything other than closed over/on ear headphones can't get loud enough without everyone else being able to hear.

Headphones in Public? they will primarily be used at work with one ear, and while walking around.

Preferred Type of Headphone - I'm looking for a set of IEM (they are definitely not my preferred type though, I 100% prefer on ear)

Preferred tonal balance - Warm/bassy, but I still want balance. I like the kicks to stay punchy and the bass synths to have presence, but I still want a smooth sound.

Past headphones:
Sony MDRV6 - These where the first pair of "real" headphones I ever bought, probably still my favorite, everything was very clear and smooth but the basses still felt as though they had good punch, I would have liked just a little more warmth without losing the balance on mid and high (if that's possible) but they are studio monitors. I would often bass boost just the smallest amount. I can be the slightest bit sensitive to the upper high tones, and the s's in singing would stick out almost too much and bother my ears a bit, and I don't miss that.

Sony MDR-V55 - I bought these when my MDRV6 broke as a cheaper replacement, I've actually loved these, the basses are very punchy, and nothing sounds muddy per se but they aren't as clear across the range? they're a little missing in the mid's and high's compared to the mdrv6. I guess I'm more bass and mid orientated (these are a perfect example of what I'm looking for, if I could find an IEM version of these I'd be very happy, good overall with good bass, not muddy, but maybe some IEM's that are a bit clearer at least in the mids? I don't really have any complaints with these beyond they miss the clarity the MDRV6's seemed to have)

Preferred Music - Electronic genre's most commonly, ranging from dubstep to trance to more club type. I also listen to rap and rock but primarily EDM. I want earbuds that let the kicks to stay punchy and the bass synths to have presence like they would on the MDRV-55

What would you like to improve on from your set-up - At the price point I'm looking I don't expect much improvement over my current set up. maybe more clarity but I don't want to have to play with EQ every song change because the highs are over bearing. I've been hard pressed to find IEM's I like but I don't think I've ever gone past $30 on a pair before.

If you guys have recommendations please let me know

one pair I've seen recommended on a couple of sites is the Sony MDR-XB90EX (https://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDR-XB90EX-Extra-Headphones-Japanese/dp/B008G80FIU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1468873674&sr=8-1&keywords=sony+iem )

but I'd prefer to hear from actual people.

Thanks guys

I'm looking for earbuds with better quality then these

I have used these Sony earbuds for years. They are a bit on the expensive side, but they are amazing. I've even gotten one of my friends to buy them after hearing how good they sound.
