Not sure how it still being micro mini usb is that relevant in all honesty, it's just a connection type used for charging/pairing (and a charging dock is like $20).

Best Buy's pricing for those is pretty wacky imo anyway, you can get a single controller on Amazon for $26.

Doom and gloom? The older the battery the less of a charge it holds. That is fact in 99% of consumer grade rechargeable batteries. I never said I was an expert, this is general knowledge everyone learns from the decades of using devices with rechargeable batteries in them in the past. My comment was that buying used has potential for a person paying even more money when they inevitably have to replace the battery inside sooner rather than later all to save $5 maybe $10. Right now you can buy a new Move from Amazon for $25.

If the battery is bad they will replace the unit with no charge to you.

Also, rift doesn't ship with motion controllers either.

EDIT 2: Certified Refurbs are $30, still no cable, but comes with a 90 day warranty. Might be worth it.

Amazon has new move controllers for $26 each. Free one-day delivery if you're a prime member. I picked these up as I was only able to secure the headset and not the launch bundle.

Now, hobbyist 9 DOF IMU sets are cheap http://www.aliexpress.com/item/MPU-9250-SPI-IIC-9-Axis-Attitude-Module-With-Gyro-Accelerator-Magnetometer/1916144202.html . The ones in the Touch might be higher quality, but I don't expect in bulk and integrated into a PCB they would be much more expensive. Of course, you have all the other pieces surrounding that chip that I already mentioned and the LEDs in Constellation are "smart", i.e. they have a blinking patterns, etc.

I understand the low-volume argument, etc., but my point is, anything beyond EUR 150 is really pushing it. Of course, to buy or not is everyone's decision, the point is, would that be good for VR overall.

Doesn't ship to Aus was another issues, but included the link for any American to take advantage of this deal :)

They're $25 on Amazon, and they're not required. And the camera is only $50 on Amazon and can be bought cheaper.
