I’m so impressed you made such a large portion. I’m not sure if this would help you because it freezes four cups at a time (two pack freezes 8) but I use these (amazon link ) so that I can defrost/ heat up just a cup or two of soup at a time.
forgot to say I also freeze sauces, and broths in half cup and cup sizes for use later. I use these gizmos

I've found the Souper freezer trays to be a godsend for batch cooking things and freezing meal-sized portions. That way I can pick and choose from whatever is in my freezer.
I use these all the time for this purpose. I don’t just use it to freeze soups. I have frozen rice and sauce etc as well. I then individually bag and label each item. The night before I defrost the food in the fridge and the next day take to work and heat and eat. Works great for me!
