I've been using a Staedtler 925 25-07 for over a year now and it works just like new. IMO, its also one of the better looking pencils out of the ones already mentioned, but the downside is that it does not have a retractable tip so if you carry it in your pocket it will probably poke through and stab you a bit. The tip is kinda skinny, but I carry it in my backpack all the time and it doesn't seem to be damaged in anyway.

Hi! I recently got on the kick after I dropped my Pentel Graph Gear 1000 and the plastic tubing holding the tip to the barrel broke. So I set out looking for a reasonable, all metal, retractable tip pencil.

• Staedtler 925-25 -- this one has a FIXED tip. It's the lightest of the 3, but all metal still. I really like writing with this one, but since it isn't pocket safe, it stays at home.   Of the 3, the Retro 51 Hex-o-matic is my favorite. I may try the Rotring 800 at some point, but I'm not convinced it's worth $60 for a pencil.
