From top to bottom:

  • 24 Port Patch Panel

  • 1U cable guide/comb

  • Ubiquiti Unifi 24 Port 250 PoE Switch

  • AC Infinity cooling bar

  • Ubiquiti Unifi USG-PRO-4

  • (From left to right) Synology DS216+II (2x 4TB WD Red), Pi-Hole, Ubiquiti Cloudkey Gen 1, Netgear CM1000 DOCSIS 3.1 Modem

  • Dell PowerEdge R410 - Win Svr 2016 DC, Hyper-V Host, 2x Xeon E5520, 16GB DDR3, 4x 1TB WD Gold in RAID5

  • Dell PowerEdge R720xd - (Soon to be) Plex/VM Host, 2x Xeon E5-2667 v2, 128GB DDR3, 2x 1TB Samsung 860 PRO in RAID1 for OS

  • Dell PowerEdge R510 - Win Svr 2016 DC, Plex Host, 2x Xeon X5650, 8GB DDR3, 8x 4TB WD Gold in RAID5

  • APC Blanks donated by work from datacenter move

  • CyberPower 1U Surge Protector

Still need to get a decent UPS or two, but after having dropped a fair bit of cash on the R720xd and 2 replacement motherboards, it's going to have to wait a bit.

Edit: Not shown, Ubiquiti UAP-AC-HD in the living room and a Dell PowerEdge R710 with 2x Xeon L5520s and no RAM, probably going to sell it to a friend.

Edit 2: Rack is a StarTech 22U, got it from my old job at a discount because the glass door was shattered on arrival. I just need to get a replacement or another vented door.

Unfortunately that rack is geared towards network equipment, like a patch panel and some switches. You need to watch the depth of the gear - that rack supports 17" depth, rack-mount servers are typically 25-30" deep. Server racks are often about 36" deep, like this one

Assuming you had a full-depth rack, basically you install the rails first by clipping them into the front and back mounting points (get a rack with square holes instead of round holes for servers, you can always use cage-nuts to convert a square hole to a round hole, but you can't convert round holes to squares). Once the rails clipped in and secure, you slide the inner rails out and drop the server in, so the mounting tabs on the side of the server fit into the notches on the rails. Then you slide the server back in

Example rails, you can see some of the notches cut out that fit the tabs sticking out the side of the server
