Strathmore Bristol Smooth

Use a cotton cloth, tissues, tortillons, Chamois for shading; however, each of them can give a different type of look when shading, so you have to experiment depending on what your medium is and what type of paper you are using.

As I said in my other post, I also wear cotton gloves when drawing to make sure no oil from my hands gets on the paper.

I can't exactly tell but from what I see it looks like you are using some thin type of printer paper.? I would try getting some high quality paper like this (is what I use).

This should allow you to:

  1. Layer ink which will reduce streakiness, resulting in a flatter, solid color

  2. Since you have limited colors, allow you to do some shading with more and less ink

Also I think some of the shading is a bit harsh in some areas I think you could try making it a smoother gradient to flow better.
