can you post a phtoos of the pen. The Surface Pro 1 & 2 used a black Wacom EMR pen. The Surface Pro 3, 4, nSP & SB1 & SB2 user Ntrig/Microsoft Pen. Completely different technology.

You will need to source an SP1/SP2 pen or try to find a Wacom Penabled EMR pen like this or from another OEM, if you can't find the original Surface Pro 1 pen.

You can also look at the Wacom Bamboo Stylus Feel (Model No. CS300/UK) or Wacom Bamboo Smart for Galaxy Note devices (Model No. CS310/UK) but they are getting harder to find.

Amazon looks like they have a few left.

I am using this, and it works well with my original Surface Pro.

The charcoal version should be good as well.

Though untested, this one seems to be compatible with the Surface Pro and Pro 2:

Generally, most pens that work with Galaxy devices with stylus work with Surface Pro 1 and 2 since both uses similar Wacom's technology. However, I wouldn't always count on it. Note that Bamboo Feel styluses do not come with an eraser.

If you aren't sure, there's always the original Surface Pen that works well.

I just picked up Krita last week and I'm running a Surface Pro 2. I had some issues with the brush displaying on the canvas (and thus not painting anything), but it was resolved when I selected a different cursor in the settings. I haven't had any problems since and never had to mess with drivers.

This is the stylus I'm using.

I have a note pro and use it for all of my notes in class. I use a surface stylus that I bought for $30 and it works well. I use the papyrus app for all of my note taking. I should be mention that hancom office, which comes free with the note pro from the samsung store, replaced microsoft office (and uses the same file formats). I also purchased a logitech keyboard which works amazingly well and also a tempered glass screen. I love my note pro and use it every day.
