Here are some buoyancy games I like to play.

  • You can make some shapes (squares, triangles, hexagons) with pvc pipe and practice swimming through them without touching. If you become bored with that you can do it backwards or upsidedown or make smaller shapes.

  • Playing with pool torpedos with other divers can be fun and helps buoyancy.

  • Another game I like to do with hard weights is put a weight on the bottom but standing vertically. Swim so you're 1/2m above the weight then just using your lungs for control go down and gently bump it over with the reg that's in your mouth. Then go back up to 1/2m above the weight where you started. Try to do it all with you lungs and don't use your hands and use your fins just for steering (don't just swim down and back up).

  • Remembered another one. Get neutrally buoyant (hovering). Then have someone hand you a 1kg weight. Stay neutral without adjusting your bcd (use your lungs). Then give the weight back and stay neutral.

Might be a rattleback. Or a pool toy for throwing underwater, they are heavy.

My son would love this he loves going to the pool so he would flip out if he got these to play with. This Seahawks ball is adorable.
