Lights Dim Over Time, Replace In Pairs: Your lights are a pair, one is never turned on without the other. If one bulb burns out, the other isn't far behind.Instant Illumination: Unlike incandescent bulbs, LEDs illuminate immediately. This "instant-on" technology offers the added safety benefit of giving drivers around you more time to react.Superior Performance: Sylvania LEDs are manufactured with bright, long-lasting, SMD LED bulbs and a thermal management system that extends life and increases performance.May Require A Load Equalizer For Optimum Performance: To help prevent hyper flashing and bulb out warnings, it is suggested that a load equalizer or resistor be installed. See Sylvania's Load Equalizer product. The Sylvania Standard Of Quality: With over 100 years in business, Sylvania is the world leader in automotive lighting for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and the aftermarket.

Let me put it this way: if my girlfriend, or my son, got into bikes and dropped some H4 LED kit in their bike, I'd ask them to rip it out and toss it immediately, the money spent be damned. I say this because I work in the field of vehicle lighting, and I've seen more than enough information, much of it under NDA, to prove to me that H4 LED retrofit kits are bad ideas at least for another few years.

> Rather, I'm basing justification off of ~30 hrs of night riding (including dense PNW fog) in which I was happy with the product.

Decades of research in the field of automotive lighting has shown time and time again that people's subjective impressions of headlamp performance are completely at odds with objective headlamp performance. In other words, people really have no idea what's acceptable and unacceptable when it comes to headlamp performance.

>I don't know what you have against LED's

Read my posts again. I got nothing "against" LEDs. That's why I suggested JW Speaker LEDs (and Truck Lite LEDs). I do have something against poor implementations of LEDs, such as any sort of H4 LED kit, and LEDs from Sylvania that don't change in intensity when you mash the brake pedal.

>but they are becoming a mainstay in the automotive industry

Yep, I know, because I work in this industry.

>because they're brighter and more efficient than halogens which is why I've stayed with this bulb.

Are they? The SAE test contradicts your point.

>You're totally right. Couldn't agree more. I go into every single purchase I make with a healthy bit of skepticism and I do my research. In this case I read through dozens of product reviews to see if this really was a reliable piece of kit, specifically relating to motorcycle applications. In this case it is and I'm happy with the performance.

So, you trust the average Joe on the Internet to provide you with informed opinions about equipment that could possibly mean the difference between life-and-death? Most people driving on the road don't even know to shoulder check for motorcyclists, but you trust them to decide what's acceptable and unacceptable equipment for your motorcycle? Can someone insert some sitcom laughter here?

How many of these reviews were authored by someone with actual industry experience, and who weren't trying to sell you something? I bet that number is 0. I can also tell you that I have actual industry experience, and got nothing to sell you except verifiable facts and figures, but you get a discount--they're free!

This is the LED brake light bulb you can buy at your local parts store. It has a 4 star rating, and 630 customer reviews. 4 stars seems awfully high for something that doesn't light up when you mash the brake pedal. Perhaps the average person on the Internet has no idea what they're talking about? I can literally show you a video of me plugging in these LEDs in my car, pressing the brake pedal, and there's 0 change in intensity.

>Maybe. I guess we'll see. Ride safe buddy.

Don't worry about emailing them. I already found straight lies on their website.

>The 3-1/2" DOT-approved LED fog lights are designed to fit select vehicle makes and models

Let's see what the government has to say about "DOT approved."

>As a matter of information, your use of the words "DOT approved" reflects a common misconception. We have no authority to approve or disapprove lighting equipment.

>The phrase "DOT/SAE approved" should never be used.

So...the company doesn't even have the slightest idea about how safety regulations work in the US. But we're supposed to blindly trust them! Gotcha.
