I second this info. I worked for optometrists for several years and that is also what they all said. It is always good to get an eye exam, but here are some tricks you can try before spending too much money: 1. Take a short break for 4-5 minutes every hour to look away from your screen and bink/close your eyes. 2. Get some eye drops like Optive, Blink, or Systain Ultra (my favorite) and use them during those breaks (at least 3 times a day, more if needed). If you live in the US you can get these at a local drug store, and probably get a smaller/cheaper size to start out to see if it helps.
This is what I’ve been using. My eyes got super dry especially in the evenings and at night but I use these drops 2-4x a day and they’ve really helped. Bonus! They don’t burn like that crap visine.
