Temple of the Dog's S/T album is one I've always loved, but for some reason I don't spin it nearly as often as I should.

Last night I saw someone post elsewhere that it was the 27th anniversary of its 1991 release date, so I had to throw it on the platter.

I instantly remembered why I loved this album so much. Early Chris Cornell, wailing on the vocals, with a band that would eventually dominate the alt-rock and grunge scene throughout the 90's - the band was basically a love-child of Soundgarden & Pearl Jam in all the best ways.

While everyone may remember the hit "Hunger Strike", the whole thing plays so well front to back. The version in the photo is the 25th Anniversary release which received a new mix and fresh mastering. It is as good as I've heard this album sound! The 4th side is a beautiful etching of the band; one of the best etching's I've seen pulled off on wax.

It's regularly available for ~$20. I highly recommend picking it up!
