Thirding a low FODMAP here. My partner had a very quick improvement in quality of life when we took on a low FODMAP diet.

The 2-step low-fodmap diet and recipe book and Food intolerance management plan
The book, The Two Step Low Fodmap Eating Plan, has suggestions for reintroducing each group, one per week. They suggest you start with mannitols and eat 1/2 cup mushrooms or 1/3 cauliflower.
