All good man, I'm still learning so much of the official terminology on this stuff myself. A lot of times I learn what something technical is called only to find out I've already been doing it self-learned through experimenting.
I got this on Kindle before I started producing and it's extremely helpful on explaining a lot of that kind of stuff that you might already know, but not really know. http://www.amazon.com/The-BeatTips-Manual-Beatmaking-Tradition/dp/0989398609
and to leave something constructive read this book. Its really good.
