I'm sure you didn't mean it this way but it's also not a problem just with women, both sexes cheat at about the same rate and there's plenty of women here whose husbands have cheated as well.

But I get what you mean it doesn't help at all seeing how often this sort of thing happens. You always hear about these statistics and think it will never happen to you, but here we all are.

Here's the book. Basically it's just kind of about the cycle of anger and resentment, and how we're doing nothing but poisoning ourselves, and potentially leading to us hurting other people. I just find all the stories inspiring. If Mandela can rot in prison for 20 years, and at the moment where he can finally get revenge on those who took away his freedom, he (and the whole country) collectively chose the path of reconciliation, and chose not to punish those who had denied them basic human rights. There's stories in there of holocaust survivors who publicly forgave their tormentors, and people who've forgiven strangers for killing their children in drunk driving accidents.

If people can get over that and move forward with their lives, surely I can do the same. The book kind of talks about how forgiveness is not about absolving people of their wrongdoing, or saying it was OK. It's acknowledging they (and all humans) are flawed, and releasing yourself from the burden of carrying around resentment.
