David Halberstam's The Coldest Winter is one of the best historical books I've read.
Actually, in the Korean War, American soldiers used anti-aircraft guns against waves of Chinese soldiers, and found it was one of the most useful and effective weapons they had.

Further reading, if you want it.
Also check out a fascinating book called 'This kind of war' if you haven't read it already.
If you don't mind, I'd also recommend The Coldest Winter by David Halberstam. http://www.amazon.com/Coldest-Winter-America-Korean-War/dp/1401300529?tag=duckduckgo-d-20
It's a pretty amazing history of the Korean War and it really gave me a window into the mentality of the best soldiers: They don't want anyone under their command to die and they will go to the end of the earth to do their job AND save their comrades.
It gave me a new level of respect for the military, not to mention a huge window into a part of American history that I was barely aware of before. I think every American should read it but given the books you're suggesting (and I'll have to look into 'em) I think it might be worth your time.
