I loved The First 1000 Days (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/157061508X/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487557675&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=the+first+1000+days&dpPl=1&dpID=51tPxxT74qL&ref=plSrch) for my first. Lots of writing and beautiful woodcut illustrations. I bought something a little more traditional for my second baby, who just arrived. Not as much time to write anymore but I really treasure the journal I did for baby #1! I'm still filling in a page each month until he turns two next month. It's a do-able amount, any more and I'd probably be too overwhelmed to write!

I have 2... the one I’ve used the most and which has turned into more of a journal for me (though written with the idea that my kid will read it when he’s older too) is The First 1000 Days (and it happens to be like 50% off on amazon when I got that link). And then I have a more classic fill in the blank style one that at 19 months post partum I’m finally really getting around to filling in - This is your book. I’ve never journaled before this but for whatever reason I feel compelled to capture tons of notes /stories/data about my kiddo, so I’ve gotten into having both of these. My only complaint about either is that the This is your book one has tons and tons of pages for stuff I don’t care about- like weird facts about countries around the world and stuff... but I figure I’ll just use the dumber pages to put in more photos and memorabilia

This book is the one I have for my son, it is sooooo great.

I love Nikki McClure's artwork and I just found out that she has a pregnancy journal and a baby journal out! I'm seriously considering buying them both now because they look absolutely lovely and I don't want them to go out of print before it's my turn!
