Electrons don't "move in a straight path." In face, they don't "move" at all. The probability of an electron to beat point A at a certain point in time can be described as an infinite number of sine waves cancelling each other out, which usually ends up in a relatively straight path, giving us the illusion of fliud motion. In reality, electrons "jump" from point to point at random, and we can only predict where they might be.
Sorry if I danced around your question a bit, I've never been very good at explaining things.
However if this sort of thing interests you, I would seriously recommendThe Quantum Universe. It goes in depth without being too confusing on the subject, as most sources usually are.
I can't decide if I like that cover or the one Amazon shows
