  • Name of Product - TheBalm's Balm Jovi Face Palette
  • Picture of Product with Swatches (Yours or Found Online) - Temptalia's Review with swatches.
  • Price of Product - ~$22-$39 depending on where you get it. Amazon, Hautelook, and theBalm during a 50% off sale (if you can get on their site then -_-) have them for the cheapest prices.
  • Where to Find the Product - Amazon, thebalm.com, hautelook, select Kohls and Walgreens
  • How You Use the Product - I tend to use this as my travel palette. It's slim, it has plenty of matte shadows, some pops of color that I can integrate if wanted, and enough dark shades for smokey eyes if I plan on going out to a party. There's one blush and highlighter that goes with any look I wear, and the lip products are pretty universal, too.
  • Things You Love - The matte shades in this palette. This inspired me to get Meet Matte (the original), because Adagio, Allegro, and Moderato are perfection. I love that two favorites from TheBalm are in this palette - mary-lou manizer and frat boy! I am a big fan of music, and I just love the theme/concept of the palette. TheBalm has some of the cutest packaging. It definitely makes me smile when opening it up in the morning to do my face. And TheBalm does mixing cream and powder products in one palette right - there is a flap to protect the cream products on the bottom. To me, this is the ultimate travel palette, all I need is foundation and contour plus this, and I'm good to go. I can use presto as an eyebrow filler in a pinch, and any of the dark shades can serve as eyeliner.
  • Things You or Others Might Not Love - Reviews have noted that the cream lip/cheek products (Milly and Vanilly) are not very hydrating. The pans for the blush and highlighter are small, so there might be some product transfer. And Metal-ica. I hate silver eyeshadows for some reason.

EDIT: Someone informed me that thebalm will be on hautelook this Friday, March 7th :) Although, if you have access to Amazon Prime, it might not be any cheaper than there.

SECOND EDIT: I just realized that this palette would be perfect for someone starting in makeup, too. Emilynoel83 did a tutorial series on a makeup starter kit, and this palette was heavily featured: part one, part two, and part three.

I like the Balm Jovi palette for travel.

Yay for found money!

I love every single theBalm palette I own, including both the Meet Matte and, especially, Balm Jovi. Both Balm Jovi and Meet Matte Nude are less than $25 and available with Prime. Also, I haven't met a NYX Butter or Round Case lipstick I don't love. I've gotten almost all of mine from Amazon. Some of the Amazon sellers don't ship prime, but will offer free shipping - I found that out with some of the NYX lipsticks I've gotten.

Enjoy your haul, whatever you wind up getting!

Things I always carry (or wish I carried):

  1. Floss- You never know when you're going to get a popcorn kernel or big hunk of food stuck in your teeth. Better to be safe than sorry. I really like the travel flosses that come in a case that's flat like a business card. That way it doesn't take up a bunch of space!
  2. Nail clippers- I am always getting hangnails, and if I don't have clippers, I end up picking at them. Plus they're good for snipping other things, like shirt tags, in a pinch!
  3. Hair spray- this is something that I personally always carry because my hair has no volume without it. I carry a little bottle of Treseme because I like aerosol, but almost every brand has a purse sized mini.
  4. Liquid eyeliner- just in case I'm stranded somewhere without any makeup, liquid eyeliner can be used for eyeliner and mascara in a pinch! I had to use it like this when I visited my boyfriend for the first time and I prayed that no one noticed my weird makeup.
  5. Extra Hair Tie/Pony- You listed bobby pins, but I also love having an extra hair tie stashed away in my purse, because sometimes you just need one.
  6. Headache/cramp medicine!- I get bad headaches, so I always carry ibuprofen in my purse just in case.
  7. Crushed red pepper packet- this one is something that I actually carry, but I'm weird. I love spicy food, so if my food isn't spicy enough and a restaurant doesn't have any crushed red pepper, I've got my handy dandy stash.

Thanks for the fun contest! I can't wait to see what everyone else has to say.

This palette is exactly $20, but I also have my eye on this facial oil for my dry desert-like skin in case the price doesn't stay $20, or if that's too much!.
