The Third Chimpanzee by Jared Diamond
Cheating is a natural part of human nature. It helps to maximise your genes survival, with females and males having very different strategies. I read somewhere that 1 in 10 babies is a cuckooled child (based on some anonymous hospital blood survey), which just goes to show how common cheating is. To me it always seems somewhat misplaced to rage against human nature and the evolution that produced us.
One of my favourite books has a chapter on this which is really fascinating and it looks at the problem from an evolutionary and game theory perspective, sans emotive morals.
