Look online for a hunk of Briar for pipemaking. Then buy a few nicer chisels, and a carving set. Don't forget a pre-made stem and a little high temp stain.

I just bought a Mr. Brog briar block with a straight stem from Amazon.

There are no instructions, but I watched several YouTube videos.
