if on a budget i would would suggest the PX21 http://www.amazon.com/PS3-Force-PX21-Gaming-Headset-Pc/dp/B002BU0DPE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1319666886&sr=8-1 if you're ok with just stereo sound, and their upgrade, the DPX21 http://www.amazon.com/Force-Headset-Channel-Surround-Playstation-3/dp/B0042Y2F76/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1319667382&sr=8-1. they have cords, unlike the Sony surround ones. those are decent surround, but i prefer the DPX21's more as the lack of a wireless feature isn't a problem for me.

i hear people complain about turtle beach's build quality, and static noise.....ehhhh, mine have withstood moving around between TV locations in my house and between friends, and i don't see how a responsible adult could let them break. and for the static, it's only on the enhanced stereo selection and none in the surround set in my experience YMMV though.

if you're NOT on a budget go for the astro A40's, or some other model by them. a friend has these....i almost wish i could play there all the time. they're like $250-300 new though.

Turtle Beach PX21 for stereo sound, Turtle Beach DPX21 for Dolby Digital 7.1 surround headphones. Both wired, and some of the highest quality gaming headsets I've ever used.

I use the Turtle Beach DPX21...it says for the playstation, but the X in the name means it works with the xbox...even comes with a cord to connect it to the controller. with the DSS extender it gives 5.1 & 7.1 surround sound but requires you connect with optical audio. The only problem ive had with these headphones, they slipped from my hands while taking them off from the standing position, 6' fall popped the right earpiece off but nothing super glue couldn't fix. had them now going on about a year and a half.

I'm using PX 21's with the earforce DSS Digital converter for 7.1 with my XBONE just fine, had to get that stupid adaptor though to chat. according to my digital box, when playing games and Blu rays, it is outputting 5.1 surround sound to the headset. http://www.amazon.com/Force-DPX21-Headset-Channel-Dolby-Surround/dp/B0042Y2F76

I don't personally have a Playstation so I don't know but at least for the Xbox they sell these adapters so you can put in your AV audio into the Turtle Beaches and your HDMI into the monitor. If this doesn't work you can try investing in a high quality headset that uses optical sound like the Astro A40s or the DPX21s for slightly less.

yes i just got this one and it is the best mic/ sounding headset for the money i spent. No noise pick up at all just your voice when you speak and very clear.

It says for PS3 which yes it can be used but it also is able to be plugged right into your pc to so it is a pc headset.
