Sounds like a replacement disc is in your future. maybe you can defray the cost by selling the old one on craigslist or eBay. there is probably somebody who would throw a few bucks at it and try repairing it themselves.

I just bought these xp300 and I love them. I need one that was going to be able to hook up to 360 and ps3, see as I play on both.
Completley wireless and a good battery life (12 hours), and awesome sound quality with different settings
