The problem isn't weight it's space. To have a container that performs half as decent as ziploc bags you would need a larger thicker container. Especially when you want to limit the "smell" in bear territory. Think of it this way, would you rather pack your meals in bags or bear cannisters?
Now what I use are these they are 4 times as thick as a regular ziplock bag and hold up extremely well. The meet the usda and FDA requirements.
My brother uses these and just leaves them in his "waste" hole. And yes, by waste hole I mean where he shits.
However they seem a bit flimsy for me.
