Although i've built foam risers before to great success, If you want more flexibility, Ultra Pro Deck Boxes + the like are very useful.
They aren't too expensive and are transparent. They also come with 2 for the price of 1 deck box.

If you just want staircase risers for nendoroids, I bought mine locally. Some scrounging on the subreddit should net you some decent sellers.

Both do a good job of preventing the cards from jostling around. If you can't fill them, then stuff some folded paper towels to prevent the cards from moving around during transit. Do use Priority Mail and pay for extra insurance if what you're sending in is worth more than $50, as the extra insurance is cheap. Heck - I sent a $4000 buylist to ABU and insurance was only $25 extra.
EVERYTIME! I am not really a huge fan of the dicebag, so I've taken to using deck boxes like these.

They fit either standing up horizontal, or you can do two piles laid flat side by side.
I don't sleeve my cards, so I'm not sure how they'd handle sleeved ones.

They come in various sizes. My favorite sizes to get are the 25 and 50 card ones for bits. 100 cards for minis.
