It took me a while to find a legal stream of the show, it's on Amazon Prime (exclusively). Unfortunately I don't have Amazon Prime and they don't have any low-quality or delayed free-version. So I can't watch Kabaneri (I otherwise would have enjoyed this excuse to check it out).
Even without the episode, I could follow through the Intermediate section just fine. Though this does show me that having characters speak this vocabulary in a sentence is valuable to hear. My lack of knowing Kanji keeps me out of that Advanced section, it seems like too much to look up in a dictionary (maybe it'd be different if I recognized a character spoke it).
Amazon Prime has 甲鉄城のカバネリ with Japanese audio and Japanese subs. Awesome series.
I have my laptop on the desk next to the monitor of my gaming pc. I read Facebook, Reddit, various other websites. Sometimes I watch a dvd, or stream tv/movies from Amazon Prime, watch YouTube.

Is the VGA port a hard requirement? It might be best to get a dongle as most laptops do not have the port built in. The Nitro 5 and the Helios 300 are both good laptops but be warned they have heating issues. The lighter the weight of the laptop (in your budget) the less power it would have. So would you prefer power or low weight?

Nope, you'll end up with 2 identical displays. It's intended for people who need to attach a projector or something.

Well if you have amazon prime then you can watch it legally here, as that is the only way to stream it legally. Otherwise I use kissanime (not going to directly link in case that breaks a rule or something) for when I can't stream something legally as it has HD and the ad's aren't annoying.
