Guys I need help before my impulse purchase urge goes away Viotek, acer, or Viewsonic ? I was about to get the viewsonic but i really doubt I'd even notice 1ms vs 4ms response times. And although I've never used a VA panel the contrast/color sounds really nice.

Anyone have any thoughts on these two monitors on sale today?

  1. Dell 27" 1080p 144hz 2ms Freesync $150

  2. Viewsonic 27" 1080p 144hz 1ms Freesync $180

Is there any particular reason to pay $30 more for the Viewsonic? The monitor will be primarily used for gaming.

This is the newer model of the monitor I own and its amazing. (I have the XG2701). 1080p, 144hz, TN, and 1MS response for under $250 (its on sale now) the older model (XG01) is even cheaper if price is an issue. You honestly cant really beat it. It has AMD Freesync which works pretty well and is definitely compatible with your 1660, I am running a gtx 970 and freesync works with it just fine despite what people say online.

Viewsonic makes nice, affordable monitors.

You'll probably be happy with it.

You have the option of going for the XG2702 too, which is exactly the same as the XG2402, but 27" inches and about $50 more. 27" is pretty large though, so you have to make sure you have the desk space for it.

Leaning towards IPS, but don't have very good eyesight so worried that it may be harder to see things in games with the darker blacks of the IPS compared to the washed out black of the TN panels. Just wanting to get some recommendations. Primary usage will be gaming and light work, don't plan on watching movies on this monitor. Games I'll be playing CSGO, PUBG, Insurgency Sandstorm
