With DIY projects, just be sure that you understand what kind of socket to pick: If the pendant lamp holder is smooth like that, you usually can't fit any lamp shades to it but the bulb will be bare. If you need to attach a lamp shade to the pendant socket, you need one with threads and a shade fitting ring (that comes with it).
