I have a Warmies toy, it's called a hooty. It's filled with lavender and grain. You put it in the microwave for 60 seconds and it becomes hot like a heating pad.
When I start freaking out, feeling like my NParents are around every corner and I'm about to be screamed at, starved, etc. I use this toy. It's so hot against the chest and smells so strongly of lavender that it helps overwhelm my senses and drag me out of the past and into the present.
Yeah! It was this really cute heating pad owl that sits on my nightstand about 3/4 of the time. The other 1/4 of the time it is a sacred blessing. It really did take me a little bit to come around to, but I am very grateful for the sensibility my gifter had :)
