edit 2: I will say I don't see this ever happening with Apple. For one, you can't just make a Kindle Fire app, you have to make a standard Android app, which then is later submitted to the Fire store. So Apple would have to make an iBooks app that worked on all android devices, not just the Fire... and having experience submitting apps to the amazon store, they're very picky. If your app doesn't work on every device they test it on (Galaxy tab, etc) it gets rejected.
