Most games, no. You'd probably notice a difference in large open-world wandering games with lots of large prefetch though.
Western Digital doesn't make anything larger than a 1TB in 2.5" 7200 I don't think, but adding 1TB to your system is probably going to be plenty for your uses for a year or two, so maybe the 2TB wasn't the best suggestion.
I think throwing a WD Black 1TB (WD10JPLX) into one of your 2.5" slots would be the simplest solution, and that still leaves you an open 2.5" slot for another one if you need in a year (might have 2TB versions by then).

There is a 1TB SSD/HDD hybrid thing, but I don't know enough about it to recommend or not:

ALSO, after you install the new drive, you'll want to move a bunch of your games over to it (just remove them in OS and then reinstall). You can have separate Steam game libraries on different drives without issue.
After you clear off some space on your boot/OS drive, defrag it. You want a good clean continuous bit of space for the OS to have use of.

If possible I would instead get a plain old ~250GB SSD and then a external 1TB HDD for mass-storage.
