I put mine in a paint ball google mask bag. That keeps the light and dust off of it. The bag is a little small, but it gets the job done. I leave it hooked to the PC, but make sure the Oculus app is closed so the Rift isn't generating heat.

I bought this paintball mask bag based on a recommendation from this sub. It fits the rift perfectly and keeps dust and light out while it sits on my desk.
