I put garlic in just about everything, but hatted having to dice it up so I used to buy the big jars (I'm talking the 32 ouncers) of pre-diced garlec. Well, a while back, I found this thing and a garlic peeler, and I'll never buy a pre-diced jar again. With these two items, I have fresh garlic in barley a few seconds more that it would take to get the jar out of the fridge and measure it out and put the jar back in the fridge. With how cheep a bulb of garlic is, it's almost costless to add a couple of cloves to anything.

Just buy one of these on the cheap. Garlic troubles are over.

I use this thing. Works great, only takes a few seconds, and no vigorous shaking required.

Also, how many people own two large metal bowls of equal size? Not me..

I always found this rubber tube thing to work the best:

It's a bitch to clean though.

My dad gave me one of these a while back. I wouldn't have bought it for myself, but it does a great job.

No way! Buy $5 silicon tube thing from Amazon and that skin flies off no problem!

That's a name brand one. Amazon has a similar one for $5 and free shipping on orders over $35.

Glad it helped. May I also pass on that I, like you, never got the knack of easily peeling garlic cloves. I did the "whack with the side of the knife" bit or with the heel of my palm but perhaps I just didn't have enough umph in my whack. Anyway, after many decades I discovered the E-Zi-Rol garlic peeler which makes the job so easy for me that I don't even mind the room it takes up in the drawer. I can put several cloves in at a time and get almost complete removal without even having to use fingers to pull off the loose peel.

Roll/smash in one of these. Rarely have a problem.

I have a little rubber tube thing that I put the cloves in, roll it around a couple times, then dump them out. Voila, peeled.

Here is a link to a similar one.

I have one of these.

And they rock.
