we've had ours for a while now and I can say it's the best mattress we have ever owned.
This mattress from Amazon is firm and has pretty good reviews. If it ends up being too firm you can always put a topper on it and still be under $500. Get some good pillows with the extra savings! Sleep like a king
I don't know about the hybrid, but I have the memory foam version of this brand. I have back and neck issues as well so I have and love a firm mattress
If you need to return, you'll probably want to use the UPS pick up option. Dunno about getting it back in the box tho (especially bc mine came rolled up).
Or a queen matress for $40 more.
