When my niece was born, the first of the grandchildren, I made it a point that once a month I sent my sister and BIL an "inappropriate" kids book. This was on the list, although my favorite is "K is for Knifeball", as even I thought this one went a little too far.
It is a mockingbird pin. It reminds me of a when I used to have time for leisure, when instead of only excercing our bodies for survival, we would excercise our minds and read. It reminds me of a book in which faith in the ability of human beings to band together against evil was prominent. And it reminds me of the days when people used to give freely, and makes me wonder if there are still generous strangers in these hard times when so much is on the line.
P.S. if it could fit in my pocket I would have said this book about zombies because in the toughest times, it helps to make light of your greatest fears, in order to maintain morale and stay sane.

She also bought me this book. I love that woman! <3
This book is also excellent in that capacity.
My wife got me both T Rex Trying along with Zombies Hate Stuff. Great reads. We leave them on the crapper.
pretty sure it's from a book by Greg Stone
