u/Cockmite - I have the GH4 and an original BMPCC, and with a $3K camera upgrade budget for filmmaking, I'd seriously consider the $1999 4K/120p Z-Cam E2, which is in-stock and shipping now - while the $1295 4K/60p BMPCC4K is still on backorder, as of this post.
The Z-Cam is powered by Sony NP-F batteries (instead of the BMPCC4K's weaker LP-E6s) and shoots 10-bit ProRes straight out of the box, with a RAW upgrade expected soon via firmware update.
Here's the E2 shooting 4K/120p:
Here is the more general image quality this camera can produce:
Amazing camera for the price.
You'll also need an $89 cage, a $148 Lilliput A5 monitor with dual NP-F/LP-E6 plates, a $59.99 dual XLR to Lemo cable (same cable used by the Arri Alexa Mini).
This camera uses expensive CFast2.0 cards for storage, so you may also want a $98.99 CFast2.0 to SSD adapter.
With a total price of about $2395, you would have enough left over for a $469.99 Zoom F4 bundle (you can sell or discard the mics that come with it) or presumably, an F6.
Hope this is helpful and good luck with your upgrade!
