Top Reddit comments about Nursery Furniture:

First time posting here in Baby Bumps, but I’ve been a long time commenter/fan of this sub. Currently 38+6 and a FTM. I LOVE seeing everyone’s nurseries and am so excited to share ours! Had so much fun putting the nursery together.

Here are some of the things we got that I love in our nursery:

  1. Birch tree removable wallpaper: NuWallpaper NU1650 Birch Tree Peel and Stick Wallpaper https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00Q00PA40/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_IgYADbV0S2SB6

  2. Dragon mobile: Baby Unisex Dragon Mobile for Crib Room Decor Nursery Baby Shower Gift https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CSMR1Y3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_phYADbATRKFC4

  3. Green geometric rug: Well Woven Isometry Blue & Grey Modern Geometric Triangle Pattern 7'10" x 9'10" Area Rug Soft Shed Free Easy to Clean Stain Resistant https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LZPL8Q1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_0hYADb4YGYXBN

  4. Birch tree stump laundry bag: Jacone Stylish Tree Stump Shape Design Storage Basket Cotton Fabric Washable Cylindric Laundry Hamper with Rope Handles, Decorative and Convenient for Kids Bedroom https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M6DVUMJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_wiYADb71SJQHE

  5. Woodland Animals Crib bedding set - Sweet Jojo Designs https://www.buybuybaby.com/store/product/sweet-jojo-designs-woodland-toile-crib-bedding-collection/238019?keyword=sweet-jojo-woodlands-crib

I know we will probably have to adjust things in the nursery once the baby comes and he gets older (I’ve seen plenty of moms comment on here how they laugh at some of the nurseries because they’ll eventually get wrecked or puked on or whatever) but for right now, I absolutely love it. I wanted to have a lush, forest feel...with dragons!

Good luck to all the moms out there. I’m so excited to become a mom myself. :)

My best friend has raised 5 kids. Never used a playpen but COMPLAINED long and loud about how hard it was to keep those kids out of things when she wasn't looking (and this is when they were age 1.5, 2, 3).... They broke fine china, tipped over houseplants, pretty much wreaked havoc. I kept saying "Hello, Playpen" and she'd say "Oh no, those are not good, I don't think they even have them any more and I would never do that to MY child." Well, idiot, yes they do still make them, but suffer the consequences without.

Our twins are 7 weeks old and we use this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LZFK54W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_c1bLAbXFY4JSS

It’s a bit pricey, but we got it as a gift from my parents for our baby shower. I like the portability of the bassinets, we have the pack and play in our bedroom but one of us will often take the bassinets to the living room until the twins are asleep to avoid waking up the other parent. Our babies sleep in them every night! However, we might only have one more month of use out of the bassinets before they are too small.

The changing pad attachment is so inconvenient that it’s basically useless, and one of the vibrating blocks doesn’t work very well on ours, but these are minor issues for us and I would still recommend it.

u/AgentHoneywell · 5 pointsr/beyondthebump

I just got this one because I hate plastic. So far so good!

You can get bigger ones off Amazon, too. They’re not as elegant as the IKEA boxes, but they do in a pinch and are the same size. We have both styles mixed and matched because even though I live like 20 minutes from an IKEA, it’s still a pain in the ass to plan on going to sometimes.

EZOWare Set of 4 Foldable Fabric Basket Bin, Collapsible Storage Cube Boxes for Nursery Toys (13 x 15 x 13 inches) (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074KRRZ35/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_4WGuDbRW9QNGH

u/PinkChubbyMonkey · 3 pointsr/BabyBumps

I really liked our bassinet. We used an Arm’s Reach Co-Sleeper. I liked the wheels so we moved it from living room to bedroom with ease.

We got a crib but didn’t start using it for naps for a few months and overnight got about five months.

We got a swing bouncer combo used, something like this. My kid hated it and it was massive. But some parents swear by them. You never know until baby gets here.

Best prep- Amazon prime and a bunch of gift cards. I have never ordered so much stuff before because I didn’t know what was needed until baby arrived. This meme is true.

u/7thAndGreenhill · 3 pointsr/Parenting

I recommend a good pack and play. A good one can be a crib for newborns & toddler, has a changing table, can be a toddler crib/playpen. Plus they fold up and travel very well.

Other than that, something that can soothe the baby is needed for your sanity. A swing or chair that vibrates should do the trick.

u/Jenn215 · 3 pointsr/Septemberbumpers2017

I have a back of the door shoe organizer for all my burp cloths, receiving and swaddle blankets. I also stuffed some pacifier clips, wet bags, and bathing suits in there.

Beside the changing table I have a wall hanging organizer thing that holds her socks, headbands, hats and bibs. this is the one we have

She's in our room so she just has a dresser other than that. With my first we had a closet to work with too lol

u/thenext10minutes · 3 pointsr/BabyBumps

I'm in Ireland so our brands could well be different to yours but it does appear to be on amazon.com

I ordered from this website in Ireland three years ago. At the time the next 2 me was really the only one about but the wooden ones look gorgeous now!

u/bec-k · 2 pointsr/beyondthebump

I would try the pack n play without insert.
I have been putting my 4mo in his crib some nights and it has been ok but when he wakes up I bring him back to bed to nurse then move him back into his bassinet (25lb weight limit).

Also, our cat sleeps in my bed a lot of the time and he doesn't seem to bother baby/stays at my feet when baby is in bed. Some people may not be comfortable with it but it's been a non-issue for us. I definitely sleep better when he's in his crib or bassinet though.

I don't know why the price changed but it was $100 when I bought it bassinet

u/mrs_tseluyu · 2 pointsr/beyondthebump

This pack n play is $44 and you'd have to get a mattress for it. You can definitely put them in there for a long time.

Unfortunately I have no idea the name of the crib, and the changing table was second hand.
1.) Big cubes from walmart (very stylish and nice for $5!)
2.) Diaper Genie! No more stank!
3.) Himalayan Salt Lamp! Bright enough to see everything clearly, but calming and soft enough for sleep!
4.) Crib bedding set: Boho Chic Coral Floral Ruffle Baby Minky Blanket, Peach Floral Nursery Crib Skirt Set Baby Girl Crib Bedding (Coral) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BPW69LG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_--jCDbHHNAWR6
5.) Changing table organizer: hiccapop Nursery Organizer and Baby Diaper Caddy | Hanging Diaper Organization Storage for Baby Essentials | Hang on Crib, Changing Table or Wall https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073V5XZHZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_vakCDbW87A2VG

u/K_Underscore_ · 2 pointsr/whitesox

I could use one for my crazy-ass baby. She's already outgrown her baby jail.

u/Drenkn · 2 pointsr/beyondthebump

Could you get a baby fence and just try to fence off the area? Evenflo Versatile Play Space, Multi Color https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074M886WX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_i_gbS.AbC3C1J5J

My one friend has stairs like these and they just try to pile stuff in front like a large table and bins so it’s harder to get to the steps.

Also due in January and have the same "problem". For the clothes, I washed them all and sorted into sizes (NB, 0-3, 3-6, etc). I went through all the clothes and threw the ones I absolutely didn't want (either really ugly, had stupid sayings on them or were stained badly) into a bag. I will eventually donate the clean ones that I just think are ugly, and probably throw away the really stained ones or use them as rags or something. I actually kept a lot because it was in good condition and mostly non-offensive (lots of gender neutral stuff!) I still probably have too much and she won't wear it all, but I figure it's better to have more than not enough.

I have an Ikea Malm dresser and a closet in the nursery. I put onsies and pants in the dresser. Top drawer is NB/0-3 months, next drawer has 3-6 and 6-9 months, and the bottom drawer has 9-12 and 12-18 months. Anything bigger I left in bags and put in the attic for later as I won't need it for a while. The other side of the dresser I put some diapers/wipes/butt cream/other diapering supplies in the top drawer. The bottom drawer is filled with swaddles and blankets. The middle drawer has baby towels/robes/wash cloths.

In the closet I got these dividers and hung things like dresses, overalls, footie pajamas, other larger/fancier items and sorted by size with the dividers. I didn't particularly want baby shoes (babies don't even walk!) but alas, I got a few pairs as gifts. So I put them on the top shelf of the closet.

I have built in shelves right next to the closet, so on those I put rolled up burp cloths, books, and some cute toys that are basically for display purposed right now because I don't think a newborn will play with them.

For swings/rockers right now I have a swing that has a removable bouncer that I plan on keeping down stairs in the living room. I also have a rock n play I am keeping upstairs (in the nursery for now, but might end up in the bedroom or the living room who knows!) The crib and bassinet are upstairs and the pack n play is downstairs. So I have a place to set the baby basically in each room of the house.

If you have extra swings/rockers/pack n plays I would consider keeping them at a family member's house if it's somewhere you think you might visit frequently! Otherwise donate or sell (or return if you have a receipt), but maybe wait until baby is here so you can test them out and see which ones your baby prefers.

I never see these mentioned, so I thought I'd chime in.

I have two dogs and we've never crated them or restricted their use of the house, at least when we're home. I work from home with my 8 month old, and I never knew where to put her during the day, because she'll roll off the couch in a heartbeat, and the pack n play is just too small to spend any reasonable amount of time in. With the dogs, I couldn't just put her on the floor either.

So I got one of these bad boys and a play mat for it, and I LOVE it. I don't know what I'd do without it. She has her little play area safe from the dogs and everything else, it's always clean and easy to keep clean, and the dogs don't feel shafted. If you have the space, I'd highly recommend it.

u/vasneema · 1 pointr/beyondthebump

This was my suggestion as well. A friend of mine has twins that are crawling so she bought something like this indoor playpen. Looks like there are a couple different price points.
