You rub it on your hands to eliminate odors, like onions or fish.

Odor eliminator bar from gander mountain, a store that sells fishing and hunting gear.

u/kleinbl00 · 20 pointsr/howto

you're halfway there.

Bottlecaps and bars of soap were a fixture of my childhood. The bottlecap itself, however, doesn't really address the problem. Suspend that sucker in space for the price of a hamburger... well, now we're talkin'.

u/CC_DKP · 18 pointsr/whatisthisthing

They are sometimes called "Soap savers", since they stop the bar from sitting in water and turning to mush.

While not the exact model, here is a similar one:

I know the Osma doesn't come in a plastic box, but make sure to leave it out in the open to dry properly after each use. Your old block looks like it was kept in a damp container a lot given it's very irregular shape.

I use a small "soap saver" to keep my Osma block on so that it can dry on all sides after use.

u/load_more_comets · 7 pointsr/Frugal

Most effective soap dish I've ever used.

u/Dubiousdoubtful · 7 pointsr/LushCosmetics

Those tins are only useful for traveling and I always cut down my bars for those occasions. For daily use I have this Aira Soap Saver https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01J6PEO2Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_P1aenIrUlrUiB on the counter right outside my shower. This soap dish https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01A61Z20K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_743mDbP6KT7VJ is handy if you don’t have easily accessible counter space.

u/Chinzama · 7 pointsr/ProductPorn

You can get it from here. It costs $24.99

u/krdshrk · 7 pointsr/cigars

I use a Metal Soap Bar. It actually works pretty well. I would recommend using a nail brush too to get under your fingernails.

u/howtospellorange · 5 pointsr/LushCosmetics

whatever you put it on, try putting it its side so only a small bit of it is touching anything else.

otherwise, I use soapsavers for my soap! I use ones like this where only the small nubs are touching the soap

u/rngr · 4 pointsr/whatisthisthing

These soap savers work great for keeping soap from getting mushy.

u/Dd7990 · 4 pointsr/bettafish

Your boi has big fins... so yea probably... try google "water bottle baffle", or perhaps you can get a super strong suction-cup soap dish (BRAND NEW, NEVER USED!) to stick on as a baffle: https://www.amazon.com/FRMMY-Suction-Bathroom-Counter-Kitchen/dp/B07RJ39MRF/ (plastic so no worry of rust)

u/battraman · 3 pointsr/BuyItForLife

Well it really depends on what you want so here's some random stuff.

InterDesign Kitchen Sink Suction Holder for Silverware, Flatware, Cutlery - Clear https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001AXDC7E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_pvw7LwtwNqxBf

A niche is supposed to have a slant toward the shower for proper drainage. Get one of these or similar suction soap tray https://www.amazon.com/LIKE-company-Waterfall-Plastic-Countertop/dp/B07H9PL31K/ref=sr_1_12_sspa

Just FYI, if you want to save yourself some cleaning, avoid bar soap entirely. Liquid soap/body wash won't leave the film that bar soap does.

Rinse with cold water, pat dry then place in a container like this.

u/rae202 · 3 pointsr/LushCosmetics

I use this soap saver in my shower and it has made my shampoo bar last much longer than when I didn't have it! It dries fully and is ready for the next wash without leaving little to any of the product on the soap saver :)

u/jaxstraww · 2 pointsr/wicked_edge

Had the same questions a few days back. I understand that allot of the blocks are compressed and can fall apart. I also bout a dish with drip holes so that the block doesn't sit in it's own moisture.

The dish is very small. Perfect size for the block. When the block arrived I was surprised just how small they are.

I was looking for something similar for a while. I ended up getting 3M command strips, and using those to attach to a cut piece of over-door hook that worked surprisingly well. Clear too so not really noticeable and mountable just about anywhere. If you needed a pic I could get one for you. Also 3M has a spice tray that works pretty well for a standard controller but not so much on an elite. If you shop around they should have something that would accommodate an Xbox one controller nicely by now..

Edit: I know from experience that these work pretty well. The medium size holds a ps4 controller nicely, as it's a bit more slim-lined. I would think the large would be close to perfect for an X1 controller. I can also provide a pic of the medium size of you need it.

Something like this or this could work. The reason I went this route is so I wouldn't have to drill into the walls, and easily moveable as I move my room around often. Good luck

u/hip_drive · 2 pointsr/LushCosmetics

Sorry, I have to put in my two cents. OP, I would only use the tin for the purpose of carrying the bar back and forth from your room. If you put it in the tin after you shower, it will start to get melty and goopy and really hard to use. It needs to dry out! You could prop it on its side in the tin, which would help to dry it out, or use a special soap dish like this soap saver which will allow it to dry completely every day! (Btw that Amazon price is absurd. You can find them for a buck at the drug/cosmetics store.)

You should get a tin! But I wouldn't keep it in there all the time.

u/floodingthestreets · 2 pointsr/Aquariums

The pothos, at least, can very easily be grown protected

u/[deleted] · 2 pointsr/EDC

Personally, an Altoids^™ tin is far too inflexible, physically. I do like them with a little 'give' in them so most of the kits resemble something similar to these which have a water tight seal. Some are plastic which will do nicely for most things, but others are just canvas or nylon tri-fold "wallet" type that I've seen some people use.

u/PenPenGuin · 2 pointsr/LifeProTips

I purchased this a while back (same idea, but with magnets!) It's actually pretty neat.

u/YellowDickiesCup · 2 pointsr/pics

This is the one I use. The people on amazon really like it.

u/Saraswatispock · 2 pointsr/ZeroWaste

Soap in the shower or sink? On my sink I have a little soap saver like this- S & T Soap Saver Bundle, 0.19 Pound https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0784BGSZ1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_ZaNJAbFBMPA1Q It works really well, haven't had any issues. Though, if you don't wash it at least every couple weeks, it doesn't work as well because it gets clogged with soap. But I literally rinse it for thirty second and that's it.

In the shower I have my body soap in a little terrycloth bag that hangs. I just make sure to squeeze it as much as possible, like for real squeeze it, and it lasts without mildewing for the life of a bar of soap. I just wash the pouch in between bars.

u/dapple_apple · 2 pointsr/LushCosmetics

I found some on Amazon that look like it! I need some as well for my counter.

u/kste9 · 2 pointsr/AskWomen

I just started using Lullaby and was surprised at how much lather I got! I was not expecting it at all. My hair honestly felt cleaner longer throughout the day and even in to the next day. I love the smell of it. I know a lot of people have problems with drying them but I keep mine in a leftover (small) black lush pot. I put it in when I get done and set it on my sink while I get ready. Then before I leave I flip the bar so the other side can dry some more. Some people use soap savers but I've not personally tried it!

edit: new link, spelling

Similar thing from Amazon $7. It's a new idea for me but it looks like it works.

u/rabidfurby · 1 pointr/SeattleWA

LPT: get one of these and mount it high up in your shower, out of the path of the water. Dedicated shower beer holder!

u/purebredginger · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

1.85 soap dish! Thanks for the add on contest! It's a great way to get rid of those pesky items =) Pink! I did nothing today. I'm about to do some calculus, but other than that, I finished the first season of Goosebumps on Netflix and played with my cat.

I keep my Movis on one of these "soap saver" dishes but anything similar that allows water to drain away would work (they're fantastic for shampoo bars too!). I took a chunk when I was traveling once and kept it in an enclosed soap holder; it got mushy and fell apart within a week. As long as it's able to dry out I haven't had any issues.

u/noushieboushie · 1 pointr/HomeImprovement

Honestly, she has to let that soap stay dry. Get two of these and have her alternate 2 bars of soap.

I put a spacer in my soap dish that lets the soap dry out between uses.

Not identical but same idea: https://www.amazon.com/Plastic-Anti-Moisture-Bathroom-Dispenser-Container/dp/B07T4SPFBW/

And when it gets grimy I put it in the dishwasher along with my baseball cap, toothbrush, and vacuum-packed frozen salmon filets.

u/Ladyingreypajamas · 0 pointsr/Cooking

This is a stinky hand lifesaver.

WRONG WRONG WRONG

Go to your local camping store and get one of these:

(or any other stainless steel soap)
