If looking to go the high yield route, I would recommend high-yield municipal bonds. They are a lot safer than high-yield corporate bonds. Even with the same rating, the default rate is much lower for municipal bonds vs. corporate. Municipal bonds are also often tax free. Sounds like you need to Gundlach this shit. I'd recommend this book. If you will get through that you will be good to go.
