I did great on the verbal reasoning section of the GRE and I cannot recommend a set of flashcards like these enough. I seriously credit them with my high score on this section. I took a little pile of them, like 10-15, wherever I went and studied them waiting in line, in waiting rooms, waiting at stoplights etc.

There's no way for anyone to give you a step-by-step tutorial without writing a novel.
