Damn, mine didn't come with the little carry strap... Then again mine was only $50. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Edit: here's my exact one, not sure why it's so pricey on Amazon though... https://www.amazon.com/London-Fog-Langley-Wheel-Under/dp/B074PHX9VR.

BTW I found mine for $50 at the PX, so if any of y'all wanna check there, might be worth it.

it's 8000 mAh not 800 mAh but it doesn't matter much as it'll be empty :P

I never use cheap bags, I don't want my bag to fail mid-travel.

So a very high quality hardshell, the B&R Torq is 400 USD and if that ever develops a problem, B&R will bend over backwards to fix it. I have several B&R bags, I needed that warranty once, I walked in, they gave me a new backpack strap (it's a convertible briefcase with a removable backpack strap), I walked out. They didn't ask for proof of purchase or money.

If that's too much, https://www.amazon.com/SAMSONITE-Cosmolite-Spinner-Luggage-liters/dp/B06XVSS8BJ/ look at the weight of that... I have a Firelite 25", it's my primary check-in suitcase.

I went from just a 25L (for 3 years) to this - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06XH297NL

And this - https://www.standardluggage.com/products/packing-cube-backpack-packable-travel-daypack

That packing cube backpack can fit my macbook, a drink, a jacket and a snack easily.

I'm absolutely very happy with my choice.

I'd usually chime in as well with how so-and-so product could use improvement...

...but I actually really like this idea. Well done!

Can't really tell what material it is. As long as it doesn't leave angry red welts on my back after use, then this seems like a winner idea.

I like that it can be used on multiple backpacks. It would also be great for hot and humid weather like anywhere in South East Asia. That can be a market for you to think about later. If you're manufacturing in China, then it's even easier to ship or dropship from there to South East Asia.

Another attachment/design idea: if the backpack is turned sideways, can your product be used as a trolley strap? The suitcase handle would slip in between the bakspacer and the bag's back. Then you could pull it along that way. Example picture : https://www.amazon.com/SwissGear-3555333416-Hybrid-Blue/dp/B06XWKK7BL

Check out the last picture for this swissgear backpack. Maybe your product could be used that way?

Hi! Okay, so this is really delayed, but I wanted to give you another perspective on packing light on international carry-ons. I have two different bags I use, depending on the kind of travel I'm doing: the Ciao convertible underseater spinner and the REI Trail 40. The top compartment of the Ciao zips up to form another pouch if you need. I bring the Ciao if I know I'll be buying a lot of souvenirs and expect to check the bag, and I always bring a packable duffel tote in that case. I'll bring it in the Trail 40 next trip. Also, don't buy the Ciao spinner on Amazon - it's $29.99 at Costco, which is where I got it! The REI Trail 40 beat out the Porter 30, Fairpoint 40, and Kelty 36/44 bags, among others, for me. (I might try out the Fairview now that it exists, but I'm pretty happy with the Trail.)

Both of these bags qualify as international carry-ons. Here is what I fit inside the Trail 40 on my last trip:

  • Packing cube: 5 shirts and 3 scarves

  • Packing cube: 1 pair of shorts, 1 pair of joggers, 1 pair of hiking pants, 1 dress, leggings, pajama shorts, 1 sports bra

  • Half Cube: Underwear and two swimsuits

  • Bullet Journal and pen case

  • Book

  • Macbook Air 13 and cord

  • Toiletries (Liquid in quart-size bag)

  • Toiletries (Solid cosmetics, medicines, deodorant, hairbrush, hair ties)

  • Ballet Flats

  • Sandals

  • Umbrella

  • Water bottle

  • Snacks

(edited to add things I forgot about)

I wore a sweatshirt and sneakers on the plane. I didn't even end up wearing everything on my last trip, so I'll probably downsize a little bit next. I fit the same amount of stuff in the Ciao underseater as a carry-on and brought a commuter backpack for use on the plane.

Oh yeah, my clothes fit in an Amazon underseat luggage bag:

https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Underseat-Luggage-Navy-Blue-x/dp/B072JVR7RL

The problem is my 15" laptop. It won't fit in the underseat bag, and needs a separate carry-on bag.

Also, I've found that underseat bags will not fit in aisle seats on most small planes (Bombardier CRJs, Embraer ERJs).

Backpacks are a little more flexible, but I'm a little older and have back problems so I haven't lugged a backpack in years, even though I have a Tortuga. I traveled in Europe with it a few years ago and it was convenient to carry on on trains and stuff.

I actually run a company that MAKES travel stickers and patches (http://www.vagabondheart.co) and I've put them on an Away suitcase, which has ridges, no problem. You just sort of put them on slowly, end to end, and try to get as little tucked into a ridge as possible.

I would say your best option is Raden luggage, which is almost perfectly smooth, but here's the hitch: The company shut down because they're one of those smart battery luggage companies and there's new rules against that. But the good news is all their luggage is on super discount on amazon. They were a couple hundred bucks and now they're 70 dollars because the company is dead. So you can get a really great deal on a bag and then you just have to take the batter out before you fly with it.

I've also put them on the Amazon Basics hardside spinner which has ridges instead of dips, and so they go on there really easily and look good. They have a bright orange and a blue as far as colours.

https://zerohalliburton.com/products/zro-polycarbonate-28-travel-case?sscid=a1k3_11xwt

https://www.skywayluggage.com/products/glacier-bay-carry-on - This is a nice green colorway.

Samsonite has a couple, I think.. Same with Victorianox.

And if you've got money to spend the Rimowa ones are like the amazon one in that they have bumps rather than dips, so you could get stickers on pretty easily and they'd look good.

Or to get the most old school stickered luggage vibe check out GlobeTrotter.

Hope that helps!

This is going to be unpopular, maybe, but for the first half of this year, i used an enormous rolling cart.

this one from the container store

First year teacher, with like, no PLC. So i had a TON of stuff to carry back and forth. It was difficult for me to discern what i’d need. Title I school, with the barest bones, so I had a lot of DIY projects for the room/students the first few months. I was hired a few days before school started, and am doing a lot of learning as i go.

I finally got to a point where i can trim down what i carry back and forth. Still have a crappy PLC, and very little oversight, but I’ve found my groove.

Just got this rolling carry-on. I am hoping it holds up. If not, lesson learned!

possible impulse buy, bc i’m just tired of looking for a rolling cart/bag that is the right size...

Also, I’ve had this laptop carrier for months, daily usage, and still looks brand new:

honestly, awesome, durable, cheap laptop bag

My wife is Indian and when we go to India (from the USA) we have to bring a ton of crap to give to relatives. We check luggage big time.

Last time we went my wife bought these bad boys we called them big bird and little bird for the color. Picking them out of the crowd was super easy!

I picked up an underseat bag for USD$30 last week. Same bag on Robson was CAD$140. The savings paid for my gas big time.

I think this is the same bag on Amazon...

Amazon's got the V3 International Expandable Carry-on, Black for $380:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071NZ2LFT/ref=twister_B07B5LW6BZ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Good deal?

If I recall correctly, that eagle creek one has it’s No Matter What warranty, which is truly great (I’ve used it in a different Eagle Creek bag. I sent it in on a Tuesday and I had it back all fixed up by Friday). It is also on sale at Sierra Trading Post often.

Two additional suggestions:

u/SierraHotel058 · 1 pointr/BuyItForLife

This is similar to what I bought for an underseat bag. Search "underseat bag" on Amazon and you will see plenty of options.

u/sjanj27 · 1 pointr/Flights

I used this with Basic Economy tickets with United (personal item/ under seat only). It worked very well. But like most have said, a regular backpack will also be fine.

OP here! This ONE looks pretty sweet.

Can someone please double check to make sure the dimensions are okay (16 x 14 x12)?
