IGR (I like Nylar), an adulticide (I like Pyritherin) and vacuuming will clear fleas in a short amount of time. Treat your animals with a decent flea killer (Frontline Plus), then you need to clear out your house, so vacuum it super well and throw out the bag. Then spray something like this: https://www.amazon.com/ENFORCER-EFT166-Flea-Tick-Spray/dp/B00F54MDSI/ref=sr_1_30?ie=UTF8&qid=1501743184&sr=8-30&keywords=Nylar all over your house. Concentrate on carpets/furniture/ any place stuff may collect. This will almost immediately kill three of the four stages of fleas. From that point it's a matter of re-vacuuming/re-applying for every few days while you break it's lifecycle. You just need to wait out the adults slowly emerge from pupa and kill them. Ideally, you'll use frontline and your animal will act as a flea birth control dispensing machine and anything you miss will just bite your animal and end up being infertile.

Hartz almost killed my cat.

He was foaming at the within minutes of application. I washed him off, but he was in a stupor (no balance, falling over) for hours; and wasn't himself for a couple of days.

It's happened to many people, and they won't pull it off the shelves:

Sorry this happened to you.

Again - Hartz knows damn good and well that their product is killing animals every day.

I buy flea meds for my cats from amazon for less than $30. It would be the best way to get rid of the fleas. If you want it, here’s the link:

This is coming from a dog groomer. Spend a few bucks and get a tick spoon. It's one of the easiest little tools to use. While you can get them off with tweezers or hemostats, I've found tick spoons to be the quickest and easiest thing to get used to.

As far as the head, it's most likely not still inside your chest. The human body rejects the head and will push it out on its own. Granted, the head being inside can cause infection and all sorts of fun things like that.

I guess they could but it seems just as likely that they could just hitch a ride on you from the start. At least if they are on the dog and bite they will die. There are sprays specifically made for dogs so I would hope they would be safe, but I'm sure they are kinda pricey. This one doesn't look too bad. http://www.amazon.com/FLEA-TICK-Repellent-Spray-8-Ounce/dp/B003IUF1FS

These are cute and they say prime on the listing

Also irrelevant for currently but I think he may like this at some point in time.

There were 90 reviews of it posted on Amazon, 64 were negative and only 26 were positive. Here is a link to the page with the reviews on it. The negative reviews were pretty bad.

Fortunately it sounds like the product just didn't work on your kitty, but if that's the case, you got lucky. From what has been written, this is FAR from simply a generic version of FrontLine TopSpot. The truth of the matter is, when it comes to this type of product, it is just not worth skimping on the cost to try to save a few bucks because the products that are cheap in price ALL have these issues, ranging from inefficacy to being outright toxic depending on how the cat or dog they are used on reacts to them.

I need to figure out what exact product is causing this. I have treated my cats with Fiproguard Plus in the last month without any issues. From the Consumer Affairs page it seems like something called "Sentry PurrScriptions Plus" is the product causing sick pets. This is the stuff i got- http://www.amazon.com/Sentry-Fiproguard-6-Dose-Topical-Weights/dp/B007CRCO8U/
I'm not happy with it as it does not seem to actually work. After 2 months my 3 cats still have tons of fleas. What is the active ingrident that is causing pets to become ill? I'm pretty much freaking out right now.

This stuff works really well. It's cheap and has the same ingredients as Frontline. I use the same brand for my dog and I swear by it. I've done the whole treating the yard thing and bombing the house in combination with other flea drops but this shit works.
