The kitty is having a hard time acclimating to you and your apartment. Pheromone sprays and plug ins by Feliway and Comfort Zone will help. I had a similar problem with one of my boys when I moved in to a new apartment. He cried the entire first two nights like a colicky infant. Then I got this calming spray and sprayed it all over his litter box areas and the hallway where he was doing all his crying and he stopped crying.

Use this image to help you out. Since you have the base, next would come the down stem. Copper pipe would serve you best but since it is expensive you could use Pyrex to get the job done. You also might want to buy the cutter. The rest is up to you. Cork can be used as a base grommet, the bowl could be made from a metal tea strainer, the limit is your ability to imagine what you can use around your house. Just be sure it is safe to have heat and smoke pass through it. Some plastics will change the smokes compound or leak hormone disruptors into your system. Also, some compounds will become ionized in water when heated up. Good luck and have fun.

While the car is parked or moving? If parked, you could string homemade blinds around the car. I know someone who did this and they just used fabric scraps on string.

If while moving, you probably want to focus on the dog rather than the car as to not get in an accident. Something like this? I know it's less-than-ideal, but it might help while you work on training better behavior in the car.

For training, I would try having a passenger play engage/disengage while the car is moving.

I agree with re-training her. You can confine her to a large crate to retrain how to use the litter box. If you're not keen on that idea, you can add more litter boxes, 3 or 4, around the house to give her more choices. Pheromone diffusers are great for litter box issues. I use this one for all my fosters and for my own personal cat who is easily stressed. Do not use the calming collar, they don't work. Is she declawed? Also, after you do see success with litter box training, be sure to reward her! something special like chicken. Cats respond very well to food rewards and she needs to know that that is where you want her to go.

This is another suggestion. I adopted a cat recently who did not like too much litter in her box. Too much made her feel wobbly and she would frequently pee on the wall. Unfortunately, there are a lot of factors as to why cats go outside the litter box but if you are willing to do a little trial and error and work at it, you should be able to correct it.

Here are two things you could do :

  1. Get some homeopathic feline calming spray. When I first heard about this stuff I thought it was a bunch of hippie mumbo jumbo. But I bought it as a last resort when I was moving with my cats and they were going batshit crazy. It totally works. http://www.amazon.com/Good-Cat/dp/B000633X1E/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1324931791&sr=8-3

  2. Once you have done the whole calming thing, your cat might be less territorial. But if he still seems to be acting nuts you need to discipline him. Don't ignore his biting. Instead spray him with water and yell NO. In the future he'll learn to understand what NO is without any water. Also, if he behaves well for a day, play with him and reward him with treats.

I have adopted three feral cats in the past and these tricks have worked so far. Best of luck! :)

This calming spray I had good luck with. And mine like sticking through trash cans too we just have to empty them in to bigger ones that are hidden or put them up high they can’t reach. Also for the counter I would take him off say no and off, we just did it every time mine got up. After a couple weeks of doing that constantly for him he stopped. As for the sinks we just keep bathroom doors closed and spray this spray on anything to make them not want to scratch and in the air can help them not be super crazy even after a lot of playtime.

[this is the calming cap](https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0083GDU3W/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1485003526&sr=8-2&keywords=calming+cap&dpPl=1&dpID=5138Kk7qutL&ref=plSrch

I never heard of calming cap before as well. I think except putting it on, conditioning with treats so dogs won't freak out by leaving something on their face.

My cats hate being in their crate whenever we have to drive them so I let them roam around the car and they're much happier! There's also this stuff which is supposed to calm your cat down. Worth a shot?
