amazon has these: Orange boston shaker, swirly orange shaker, more swirly orange.

ninja edit: Oh, didn't realize you said plastic. Here's a mini one.

Get a good shaker. By good, I mostly mean will not leak and will last Here is the link to the one I have - I have used it more days than not for the last 3 years, it is still going strong.

Also, get some glasses - I love the 'Dizzy' glasses from Crate and Barrel. They are $2 or $2.5 a glass depending on sales and the look and feel great. They are sturdy enough you aren't always worried about breaking them, and cheap enough that you won't mind if you do.

I would also prioritize always having a couple of fresh lemons or limes in the fridge, and fresh ice. That alone is a huge step towards good cocktails.

I was in your exact shoes a few year ago, and while I wouldn't claim to be a 'mixologist' or anything overly fancy, I have a great home bar well stocked for entertaining, or just choosing what of my favorite drinks to enjoy after dinner. I would say that you have the right idea which is to get the things that you know you will be using and slowly expand as you see fit. Feel free to PM me if you have questions, and have a happy birthday!

That thing on the dash? I think that's one of those shakers they have at pizza restaurants for cheese and pepper flakes.

Here's the OXO strainer. Sucks that it's so expensive there. It's $7 US here, and I do prefer it to a standard Hawthorne, however the standard will certainly get the job done.

I also prefer a French shaker myself. That's certainly a matter of preference. I feel like I'm seeing more shakers other than the standard Boston popping up at high end bars these days, so I'm not alone.

I don't really like the cobbler shakers. When they get cold the cap freezes on, turning them into an unreliable version of a French shaker anyway (still have to worry it might just fly off when you're shaking) so why not just go French?

Well, depending on the build, I can fit 2 to 3 cocktails in the koriko shaker tin set from cocktail kingdom. I don’t know what you mean by “multiple” though.

Something like this though, could shake maybe 6-8 cocktails, I dunno. I personally would rather use a regular shaker (or two).

That's called a shaker glass and wasn't even meant to be a beer glass originally. It evolved from being one half of a Boston Shaker, which allowed bartenders to mix and measure multiple cocktails in one go. Sometimes you still see them with measurement markings on the glass part.

Various people have opined about how it doesn't do much for the beer.

Apparently it became the de facto standard in the 80s because it is cheap and utilitarian. Stacks nicely. Demand better glasses!

You need one of these. Water, flour, shake it up, pour in slowly while whisking. No lumps. It's possible, I suppose, that professional chefs might be able to add dry flour to gravy without it clumping up, but I've never heard of that working.

Well, if I ever found myself on a deserted island I would absolutely need this cocktail shaker. Why? Because finding a way to craft booze would be on the priority list to begin with. And you need a way to make some fancy fly island drinks!!!

Ps, turtles are awesome

Ahhh perfect. This is exactly the type of criticism I was looking for. Do you think something like this would suit better? I couldn't find anything by bacardi on amazon.

Hm I'm not sure tbh. each bottle is probably around 20 or 30 bucks. The ar set was 40 here's the one I got.

I tend to buy one bottle per paycheck and go to vintage and thrift stores for all the glassware.
