Since you're cooking alone, I cannot recommend more a colander that supports itself. They have ones with extendable arms that extend past the sink, but I have this one:

And oh my god has it been a life saver.

That's how my mom cuts EVERYTHING. Meats, veggies, anything. Same cheap steak knife she has had for 20 years that goes in the dishwasher everyday on a Corelle plate. Or on this ridiculous cutting board that's smaller than a knife and has curved edges for some reason so you have to cut down in a valley. Last time I was at her house I resorted to just breaking broccoli into pieces by hand rather than use that monstrosity.

I have a similar one. They're silicone and the amazon page

from the description:

>Kitchen strainer convenience features: non-slip handles gentle on all surfaces, dishwasher safe, heat resistant up to 600 F

a good colander and screen.

I use an expandable kitchenaid strainer to strain hops and trub from my wort after chilling. The arms pull out so it fits across the top of my fermentation bucket. It does a pretty good job at getting most of the junk, whatever gets through I don't worry about.

Here's the colander

personally i have never believed in sets. I culled my cookware to just what i actually use - but damn you now i am eyeing that 7 piece set - i love how it takes up so little room.

I use something like this to break my rocks up into fine powder. Couldn’t find the exact one I have but it’s pretty close. I usually use a ping pong ball to rub the rock against over my mirror and comes out as a fine powder with no more work.

Strainer

All he has to do is keep one with him at all times while driving. Collapsible ones can fit in glove box.

Still think he's a douche.

Collapsible strainers are pretty awesome for storing and work great!

There's another type of strainer at Bed Bath and Beyond as well where the bottom is removable so the dish converts from being a bowl into a strainer. Could not find it specifically online, but it should not be too difficult to search for online. Would definitely recommend it!

I just mocked up an initial stab at this approach which looks like it'll work. That vacuum is a cheap Home Depot thing which is crazy powerful and includes an adjustable air-mixing gate which I have shown wide-open in the picture where the hose enters the box. I've been using it to suck air and chaff straight out of the Behmor chamber at full temp without any issues.

I've placed an order for a small colander with larger holes with the hope that it'll allow a bit more of the chaff to find it's way through into the vacuum.

STOCK MY HOUSE

this and this are what I really need to finish off my kitchen for the retro theme but I know they are out of the price range, lol

I am learning to cook healthier so this wok would be the next item I'm looking to purchase.

and if that is still a little too much this colander would do the trick and you could gift some one else also. :-)

It sounds like your cooking is pretty similar to mine, day in and day out.

Get as big a cast iron skillet as your stove can handle - it will take the place of a wok for a lot of meals and also be able to handle bigger sautes for folks who like a lot of good veg.

Definitely look at a pressure cooker; I have an unreasonable bias against slow cookers, based on eating too many things from them when they were a novelty, but must admit that used well they are the flip side of a pressure cooker.

A silly thing, but one I love is good containers for mise. The silicon cups are darn pretty too. I use my immersion blender only one or two times a month, but find that it gives me a lot of control without requiring a major clean up.

If you have a favorite chef's knife, make sure you get a cutting board that is 2 inches longer on the diagonal than the blade of the knife. Bigger is fine if you have the room, but that proportion is the minimum for chopping happiness.

I have an over the sink suspended colander that I love for a lot of reasons. It is like this one. You can drain pasta obviously, but you can also leave eggplant that you choose to salt, a sticky rice basket that is waiting for the water to come to temp, salad greens that are dripping still and a bunch of other stuff just hanging, out of the way.

Congratulations on tying the knot. May your marriage be as happy as ours was!

I love simple details like that which make a world of a difference.
I would have never thought about that.
(That is, until I encountered that issue after I get my LiveAboard Boat)...
Great recommendation.

There are still 10 blue pots from another vendor. Get them while they’re hot! http://www.amazon.com/Excellant%C3%A9-12-5-Inch-Plastic-Wash-Basket/dp/B007XTS4TU

How about a Squish Colander? Thanks for the contest!

Mike Mike Mike Mike Mike Mike! This would help me with all the cooking. It is amazing how difficult life is without a colander.

  1. Every good witch needs ice trays to properly ice her wine draughts!
  2. I'm scared of heights, so my broom will most definitely be put to muggle uses. Quidditch is best watched from the stands for this szor.
  3. All the gals in next month's issue of Witches Wardrobe will be coveting my collander hat.
  4. I would totally be a Hermione and read all of my required texts during summer break. I can't even begin to fathom how amazingly fun it would be to read wizard books!
  5. Strap this puppy to my broom nonexistent bike for extra luggage space. My pet toad would look pretty snazzy riding around with me.
  6. An invisibility cloak for every nail!

haven't needed to buy a second liner yet but i did buy these items:
http://amzn.to/2jatjNU (higher trivet)
http://amzn.to/2jtqOag (out of stock, there is more expensive one on amazon, you have to snap the handles off it to fit the pot though- you need 8 inch)
http://amzn.to/2jtzj5t - extra silicone ring - I keep one for oniony foods and one for less savoury foods. You can get the onion smell out or most of it out by putting 1 1/2 cups white vinegar and lemon peels in the instant pot and let it steam for 5 minutes.
8 inch heavy duty steel mixing bowl.

INTO the vacuum (new)? No, don’t do that. Those beans are (at the start) hot enough to melt plastic. Get a stainless steel colander with lots of holes. I like this one: https://www.amazon.com/ONEIDA-QUART-STAINLESS-STEEL-COLANDER/dp/B01F7PVGBE
Sit it on top of a plastic bucket or wastebasket. Cut a small round hole in the bottom of the side to stick a vacuum hose or nozzle (vacuum doesn’t have to be new).

In my studio I got lucky with storage but I know that I would get this bag holder as well as collapsible kitchen essentials. A slim trash can helps. If your bathroom has no storage, something like this can help. Hang your spices on the cabinet. Use this in the shower if you need more space. XD I use command hooks near my front door to hold my keys and daily jacket. :)
