So my swap group (Swaptopia on Ravelry!) just did a local goods swap and, being the California Girl that I am, I just had to throw in a nod to our state flower and the gorgeous Poppy Fields we've got here in the Golden State. These little guys are now living with Perrla in the beautiful Midwest!

Crazy props to the book 100 Lace Flowers to Crochet - I've used it many times now and I dig the outcome every time.

Crocheting with thread is basically the same as crocheting with yarn. You may have to adjust how you hold the thread with your non-hook hand to retain proper tension, but other than that not much will change.

I found this book yesterday while I was looking for pattern books. You might enjoy projects like that. If you're interested in trying doilies with a more modern look, you might like this book, it's one of my favorites. Or, you could find patterns to make 50s style lace gloves. That has been on my "to do" list for awhile. Crochet gloves are typically made with size 20 thread.

HELLO! I'm sorry you're having a bad day. Maybe you could start a discussion or activity of silly ideas on how to make your work go by faster? (Do you have time to make paperclip and binder clip monsters at work?!)

My sister is having a baby BOY this December. I am unemployed, for now, so gifts have fallen by the wayside at the moment. It would be amazing if you could knit me this super cute hat (or any hat similar to this for which you have a pattern, and in any boy-ish colors you have lying around!) that I could gift to her at her shower, which I also have to plan and throw, holy cow!

oh yay another hang up (Is this a knitting reference? I cannot knit for anything!!)

Cool (girl) baby hat pattern from Amazon!

Edit: I saw your update that you crochet, not knit. Any hat pattern you could find on Etsy for a similar hat is fine. I don't really know the difference between knitting and crocheting!
