Because I wear slacks to work.

If I am not wearing long pants then I am not wearing tall socks, just ankle length ones.

I pull my socks all the way up when I wear slacks because when I sit with my legs crossed at work people can see my sweet flair socks. These or these or if I am feeling particularly saucy these.

Sorry to say I have to disagree, Socks, underwear and undershirts when you buy quality and you take care of that quality item (nothing is bifl unless you maintain it PLEASE FUCKING REMEMBER THAT) they outlast and perform better then the cheap stuff. I am currently wearing $25 over the calf wool socks made by Merino and they are better and last longer then anything you will buy in a department store. When you buy "gold toe" or even athletic socks they will rip, fall apart and feel like crap far sooner then mine will.

Thanks b! Surprisingly enough, they're dress socks. Here's a link for them

Here's a sock with a low heel angle laid flat as it can go, the pattern doesn't continue in a 90º angle at the heel, but it's tapered on both sides.

The more you start to use the unicolor heel to prevent pattern distortion while being worn can cause the socks to look pretty weird in the heel area.

Oh Hi Mark

The most fun I had on a Spring Break was last year. I love hiking and getting outdoors, so I went with my mom to Crater Lake National Park. It's the most beautiful place I have ever been. Here's some pictures since I couldn't explain it well enough. I study some geology in college too, so going here, where a huge volcano erupted so much magma that it collapsed into itself, creating one of the deepest lakes in North America at 600 meters, was really exciting.

My item. Living in Oregon, you'd think I would have seen the big guy by now!

dem socks

*they can likely be had for cheaper. I got mine on Urban Outfitters

Gotcha, thanks! Is something like these okay has a basic example or are these too dressy? They seem sort of like dress socks to me.

>3 for $30

Jesus, I bought mine off amazon 10 for $15. Do these suck? They probably suck.

I'll give the wool ones a try and spend some money on them.

I have decided to ditch the mostly plain black/blue/brown socks I usually wear with my jeans/khakis. I was hoping to get some colorful socks, argyle maybe. just more colorful to go with shirts. I found these on amazon but I feel like they would fall apart after 3 or 4 wearings because of the price. Any sock suggestions for around $5 a pair that are good?

The men's version of my socks doesn't get as high reviews as the women's! :o Just wanted to give you an alternate possibility! Although right now I'm thinking of buying qizi's socks for my husband and throw out the others. :)

Loafer socks

You can find cheaper versions with some searching.

Ah ok. I was thinking you might be asking for fabric weight or something. My digital calipers ran out of batteries, and I tried to estimate thicknesses but it didn't work very welll. Here are some rankings of thicknesses of socks I own. From thinnest to thickest:

  1. Smartwool non-cushioned socks

  2. Darn Tough #1617

  3. GoldToe dress socks

  4. Uniqlo socks

  5. GoldToe ankle shocks

The SmartWool and Darn Tough #1617 both lack cushion, and are fairly thin. The Smartwool socks seem marginally thinner than the Darn Tough #1617 and GoldToe dress socks, which are similar. The Uniqlo socks appear to be a tad thicker, primarily because of the ribbing at the top of the foot. The GoldToe ankle socks are strangely the thickest, but not by much. They're nowhere as thick as Uniqlo HEATTECH socks, or any cushioned socks by Darn Tough.

EDIT: I also found some old Kirkland Signature dress socks (possibly these). They're about the same thickness as my SmartWool non-cushioned socks.

I like that colorway but was limited on what I could cop, honestly I think I'm preferring these neptunes over all the 87 colorways. And for your socks you could just get an all over print with skull and cross bones on it, something like this. Tell me what you find !

I don't (yet) recommend any. They all suck :-) I have:

I really like Dockers bamboo rayon texture socks, they tend not to get very smelly
